Why are skeletons always accociated with evil?

First Pic:
its funny! american idol creates more rocker types and the sky hasnt fell yet.
you can get this on a
T-shirt on Richard Hell's website

Second Pic:
The beauty currently known as Santa Muerte
Holloween seems pretty novel these days. A chance parody and make people laugh. Cheap thrills from haunted houses. Its OK to be knock off creepy and make the outside of your house look like shit with plastic tombstones and cotton on your bushes. any other time of year its silly goth flagrent if you have too much gloomy decore on display. Fall as a season lends its unique hand in enough symbolism with trees weather change to display a death like quality in nature. Trees are getting ready for suspended animation by dropping there leaves, the weather is teasing you with brisk days and cold rainstorms. At its roots holloween is pagan, like putting trees in your house (The Angel on the top of your tree looks confused if you look hard enough.) But whats wrong with assimalating pre-christian practices into a dominantly christian country? I don't see a problem because it brings back forgotten colors of a past outlawed ideas. Take day of the dead or the contraversial "Santa Muerte" in mexico. These concepts have been morphed from pre-columbian imagery and notions about mortality and its finite nature. To an american skeletons to quote Ali G or my friend Paul "always associated with evil" unless your a greatful dead fan. People dont want to look at skeletons because they think there ugly and a sign of bad stuff. Indiana Jones teaches us that skeletons signal booby traps or musty cripts with more rats than even Willard could handle. The truth is its your future self on this planet and its not so bad (imagine if we were invertabrates, we take that for granted) no cool fosil records just a shadowy relief on a rock. We can laugh at the old clanky bones but I think we should leave a little room for respect. I think its the grim reaper thats off putting (have you seen the pictures of death in those plague paintings?) he looks like death gone wild, fluanting his job while people run from him like godzilla. In mexico shes a saint and a guiding force in a place were life can seem brutally unfair and death happens frequently. A perfect adaptation to offer some peace of mind when mortality can be gravely apparent. Oh! And ma new mixtape is in the workinz roight now, hope you think it's reallness!! and brings da true meaning! Oh oh! blog shout out to the man in ARMOR!! shlingg! (samurai blade sound) A.K.A Squeek cuz im sure he still jerks off and thats OK.

You can trust this man with a moustache

If you don't know who this man than say hello Giorgio Moroder. Chances are youve heard his music production and not even know it. He has produced for Donna Summer and kicked out many disco jams. Giorgio has done soundtracks for a bunch of movies in the 1980s including the theme for "Never ending story". He loves synthesizers and they love him back because he makes them sing with sometimes cheesey but always romantized sounds. Here is a track by Giorgio with Phil Oakey (the lead singer from the band The Human League). I picked this song because im pretty sure this is were the French record label (Valarie records) got there name. This song makes me chuckle but I still love it. Also I've posted tracks that I find "Moroderesque".

Giorgio Moroder & Phil Oakey- Valerie
not a one of his masterpieces but I recommend dancing with a serious scowl on your face while using dangerous amounts elbow swinging.
http://www.mediafire.com/?jjn3kwim3t2

Alden Tyrell- What your eyes can do
Dutch producer Alden Tyrell sound is pretty much in direct lineage from Moroders synth forward dreamscapes. This guy is very talented.
http://www.mediafire.com/?y23qykzu22n

Nightwaves- She's Electric (vega italo dub)
Nightwaves is part of that 80s synth revivalist crew (just like artists on Valarie records). The original is OK but Vega's Italo treatment is spot on. With a warm melting vocoded vocals it will make you forget that Auto-tuning ever existed. It like a sunny day on the Italian riviera in 1982 were a perfect bronze women sunbathes on the beach. Her beauty slows time and her swimsuit and sunglasses combined cost more than a new Vespa.
http://www.mediafire.com/?jwmaw5iyjxt

Crusin' Gang- Chinatown (Archeteq Acid Version)
Dont know much about Archeteq or Crusin' Gang. I do know that Crusin' Gang is a bad ass name. This one is like a sunset
(Ha! perfect for this blog eh). Who knows? Maybe your driving the beach goddess back to your Villa in a Ferrari hahaha, sweet dreaming.

Yuzo Koshiro + 16 bit music = fond memories

Yuzo Koshiro is the musical genius behind the Streets of Rage soundtracks. Being one of my favorite game series of all time I was pleasantly surprised Itunes has released his greatest hits. Itunes Botched the artist name (not a first for Itunes) but they score Bigg points for giving us some beefy 16-bit 90s house bliss. At 6.99 (like forty tracks) an album its a bang for your bucks. The track I have for you is the intro to the game. Its smooth, Misty and it makes me think the 16-bit metropolis were Streets Fuckin Rage!!!

The death of autotune and labels such as hipster, scenester, emo kids and brosters

sorry freinds but the music hasnt arrived yet. still i feel like talking about a pressing issue (pardon my shitty writing skills).
Is it just me or is every label we use on today's youth a bloated corpse of worthlessness. Sure everything started with a sense of whimsy or a cheery way writing of some asshole. But now its just going to turn into a straight face shitty reenactment of the warriors. All these lame gangs so pigeon holed it Just that it loses all the fun that being out and about should bring. Whats worse is the fuckers that constantly harp on these labels like its there only sense of comic relief. How about you try on a shit label for a change. How about the play-it safesters, or mainstream 50s nostalgia lovers (not greasers or beats but those sock-hop ice cream social douche bags) or Conservtron grandpa kids these kids have less charm than 3rd rate vegas entertainer. That shits not coming up off the radar! I don't blame kids for being boring and judgemental but it seems the media has won when we do all the label work. Remember Gen X'ers or Gen Y or any horrible buzz words invented to stifle or stereotype people into oblivion. when you listened to Nirvana in the early 90s you didn't say to yourself " Wow this is some great Alternative-grunge music made by my favorite gen X dudes" its sounds unnatural and barfable. The true Irony is that kids have so much potential creatively and in there persuite to find there voice and yet in there development they are stiff with apprehension. All they can see is crap categories they have to commit to. Thank god current scenes don't have the answers. Our aging brains are overcooked with bad blood like the tail end of gangster rap combined with the overipened hair metal flair in 89. You need a little room and open dialogue to get any substantial social anomalies that you can be proud to call counter culter. Heck, maybe we can thwart the media from trying to define the next coming movements. We can go back to making them fear the sense of unity and vigilance. kids can pick up were the civil rights movement left off and we can have a renassance or some sort of age of enlightenment. Anything remotely positive is better than puritanical label wars. hahaha brosters...were fucked. Comments?

Just tell me when we groove again

Today was a decent day and while cleaning up my apartment with the ipod on shuffle I was inspired to share some more tracks. Mostly disco and house oriented tracks that may keep you going through the day.

Man made science featuring Haldor Laegrid- Just tell me when...(Vox Mix)

I love this tracks down tempo disco house sexiness. The vocals are hypnotic and evoke a sense of yearning for past hot and heavy nights with a significant other. Hmmm, but hot damn! This might be like Berry White in a current relationship. It will turn "doing it" into making love hahaha.

Grace Jones- The hunter gets captures gets captures by the game

For a while I was pretty naive about Grace Jones, this was until I heard her amazing work. Genius disco tracks like "pull up to my bumper" and this one as well are infectious. Also props to Tiga because I first heard this on one of his podcasts, check em out.

Tennis Hero- Midnight love

Holy shit! its that northern European down tempo. This could liquefy all those knots in your mind. Once again with that bitter sweet recollection of the love in the days of yore. If you come across anything by Tennis Hero its going to be good because this music producer has his chill skills on lock.

Sebastian Tellier- L'amour et la violence (Boys Noize euro mix)

to me this remix just showcases Sebastian Tellier tender vocals in a dramatic and club friendly way. Plus it shows a softer side of the of maestro of club bombshells known as Boys Noize. Its the meeting of to great dance music minds.

Glass candy- Poison or Remedy

Glass candy is on the amazing label "Italians do it better." strange female vocals over easy going piano disco production. That's good stuff.

I am currently in the works of transferring files to another computer and when I complete this Billy D.'s will have sounds to sample. I do believe in supporting musicians by buying there music. However exposure is always positive so ill try to post talented producers music.

Some nice starters

like many youthful dance music lovers I was looking for big tracks that could send a crowd ape shit. And while I still respect a good dance floor brain ripper, I realized it is but one shade of the many shades of awesome you can find out there. Here is some well made smooth grooves that can kick off things or even bring you down gently to get that stress out.

Tensnake- I was holding back my love
this guy is smooth. this track is like taking your favorite slow jam and putting a four-four beat on it. actually just look for anything by Tensnake and be amazed. Currently though this is my favorite.

Knightlife- crusader
this is a little more up tempo still smooth. if you like the down tempo disco sounds of the early eighties (this includes real percussion melding with tasty synthesizers) give it a listen.

Iron Curtis- Solgerhood
This right here is my current favorite. If you like house oriented music but your looking for something without a retro or revivalist feel this may be the ticket. Its elegantly minimal (not boring or snobby) with a dash of tech house refreshment. to me its brains and beauty. Also Iron Curtis is label mates with Tensnake on the record label Mirau music wich is a quality record label.

Woolfy-Neeve (permanent vacation tropical heat mix)
this is for if you yearn for the sounds of some far off tropical paradise. I like it when dance tracks incorporate recordings of jungle noises, birds or sounds that evoke the images of the outdoor world. if your looking for quality down tempo Woolfy has many tracks including the original Neeve you might fancy so check him out.

Quixote-before I started to dance (Prinz Thomas edit)
smooth summer guitar strummin with chill vocals. Prinz Thomas has the magic touch to take this track nice to blissfully nice

That concludes my kick off list for now. In the future I will try to post some tracks to share with whom ever. Until then Hit up other blogs, Itunes, Beatport or possibly Bleep.com to hear what these tracks are like.

Keep it breezy,
